wow, I really need to get back on this blogging thing.
just some of my recent favorite photos. I'm sorry, I know this is kind of a sad excuse for a post and it has been quite a while. Lots happening, well laziness mostly. I hope to be back to you soon with some more inspired posts. Just listen to some new Bombay Bicycle Club, I highly recommend Ivy and Gold and Swansea.
Au revoir, for now.

Resort season is among us. Hot summer weather, relaxed, breezy clothes, sandlas, bare feet, and dresses...lots of them! So very excited to be able to finally partake in these summer days now that Calgary has decided to get with the program and get out of it's rain slump, thank you! Time to get my rosy tan on and listen to some summer jams, I highly suggest anything dance-y or just music to chill to, Surfer Blood, The Radio Dept., Passion Pit, Girls, Rooney, and Broken Social Scene are in order! Now if only I didn't work so much, hmmmm.
Here's some of my favorite looks from this Resort 2010 season so far paired along side some summer beats you should listen to this sunny season :)
Chloe Resort 2011
Chloe's always one of my favorites, jsut classic, clean dressing that's always leading trends. I'm a huge fan of the shoes this season!
Broken Social Scene - Texico Bitches
Stella McCartney Resort 2011
Oh Stella, you never disappoint. Always knows how to do colour in just the right way and amounts. The blues here are insane! And the oversized lace is something I'm dying over a bit. I also really like her use of florals in a way that's really different and new for spring, something that can tend to get played out.
Vampire Weekend - White Sky; Holiday; Run (basically just any and all Vampire Weekend songs!)
Tokyo Police Club - Bambi; Not Sick
Ratatat - Sunblocks; Drugs;
Passion Pit - Smile Upon Me
Chanel knows how to do resort. It's always just the height of luxury, this season with the models walking barefoot through the streets of St. Tropez, France as they arrived via boat. I love the easiness of this collection and the extreme summer mood that Karl Lagerfeld went for this year. It just makes you want to become a bohemian, walking around barefoot, rolling out of bed after a night of lavish partying, ever so glamorously. If you really want a laugh and to further grasp Karl's vision I highly suggest watching the short film he wrote and produced called, Remember Now.
Hot Hot Heat - Goddess On The Prairies (I'm realllyyy loving this song right now, maybe it's because I'm a prairie girl ;) )

Really like what these girls have been doing. Just really cool clothes that are wearable and young, hip, fun.. all that good stuff. Big fan of the overall straps and casual fabric use in cool ways like that awesome cape coat!
Dragonette - Pick Up The Phone (Van She Remix)

heaven's on fire
My oh my, it really has been a while since I last blogged! It just so happens however that I was out of town, on an island far, far away... well not that far actually. Yes I went to Vancouver Island to visit my wonderful bf for 5 days of summer fun! And summer it was, after not so summer-y weather in Calgary it was soo sooo nice to have 5 hot sunny days :) I even managed to get sunburnt, soaking up some rays on the top of mount Zouhalem which is where these pics were taken. I'm not much of a hiker, I must admit but it was a gorgeous day and I had some great company which made the climb to the top all worth it, and the view was pretty spectacular! I mean come on!!
All in all an amazing trip, and I even got to see some of my Tweeds ladies when I was in Vancouver the day before! SOOO good to see the few that I got to and cannot wait until we can all be reunited and have more awesome and debaucherous times!!

This isn't the exact post I was planning on for today but the stars didnt quite align so it will have to wait for a photographer to be in comission! Today marks exactly one year to the day of my Grad. I wanted to do a post with me in my dress yadda yadda but oh well. It happen eventually! But for now some of my new favorite photos and my rambling will have to do.
Here's some photos anyways! (I'm a huge fan of this first one)
I've been listening to a lot of Air and Ratatat lately, and thanks to a certain someone I found the new Ratatat album, LP4 and cannot stop listening! That mixed in with some French genius of Air (Cherry Blossom Girl, Sexy Boy, and the entire Virgin Suicides soundtrack that they did) has gotten me in a tizzy. Now I really want to watch the Virgin Suicides or any other Sophia Copolla movie will do... that may be in order for this snowy(?!) May evening.

you've got the magic eye
Well, here we are again. Terribly sorry that it's been so late this time. It always seems that by the time I get around to posting or feel like I should post something it's around the time when I start getting messages from some people (cough Jeremy, Natasha, Liz cough) to post again :) So here it is. The inspiration finally came to me I guess you could say, and I think this is how we're going to go. Alright so originally, Liz had an epiphany and said I needed to do a post about the amazing 90s 3D craze, magic eye. I could never really do magic eyes before but after much intensive coaching from Lizzay and staring cross eyed 1cm away from her computer screen for a solid 10 minutes I finally got it!! So to go along with some of these marvelous little optical illusions I though I would put it with some beauty shots from shows that have turned into some of my favorites that I think are pretty... magical... tehe, so cheesy but so perfect. Oh and I got my hair cut today so for all you people that I unfortunately can no longer walk next door and show, and instead can skype, I posted a few pics for you!
This is the very first magic eye I ever accomplished. Yay.
So fresh. Stella McCartney Spring/Summer 2010I'm usually one more for the natural but this is just kind of brilliant. I believe it's from a Christian Lacroix show. I saved this picture because I love the use of colour, the pale, pale pink on the cheeks and that metallic aqua on the eyes. That takes some skill.
Karlie Kloss. So gorg. This is from the Alexander Wang Spring Summer 2009 show. So fresh and natural with the wild eye brows and big braided hair. One of my faves. All the girls looked great.

something good can work
Well hello there again. I am back after a bit of a hiatus. Back in Calgary too. After 3 days of snow I finally saw blue sky today. Shocking, I know, considering I have been hearing nothing but tales of summer fun from friends who are now all over the country. Sad but true. After many a tearful goodbye, it was time to come back home. It was an amazing 8 months that pretty much lived up to every cliche about the first year of university and what it would be like. The people, the memories, the relationships... oh yeah and classes too. It really sucks being away from everyone right now, so thank God for skype, mixed tapes, facebook chat, like today with the lovely Ms. Lizzay Ellan, and text messaging and all that fun stuff that keeps us all 'connected' (thanks Alf!).
So yeah. The day that I left UBC and said my final goodbyes I went shopping with my mom, pops and sis. I guess completing my first year of university and not having seen my family in 4 months worked in my favor because mother dearest got me a pair of shorts and a new dress!! Thanks Mama :)
Here are some pics taken by my lovely and talented sister, Miss Jillian. Mad props. I rarely ever think that I'm photogenic so it was really nice to have some legit shots taken.
I was kind of channeling a bit of Alexa Chung with this look, she did a really similar one on her show last summer that is one of my favorites so with my new denim I couldn't resist.
this one feels a bit reminiscent of something... ;)
When I first bought these boots, I had a vision. Of a slightly over sized, swingy, floral, summer dress to pair them with. I am pretty pleased that this Raven Simone - esque vision has now come to life. Cannot wait to wear this for reals once all the snow is melted and temperatures climb a bit more over 10, a little colour on the legs might be nice too. For now I am embracing the pale as always.
Once again, all the photos get credit to Jillill and her mad photog skills! Impressed to say the very least. I hope you enjoyed it. I had a lot of fun taking the pics, dancing around in my backyard to some Two Door Cinema Club with my sis.
But before I go, I must incorporate something that I promised my dear friend Natasha I would... a drunk text. This one is from tonight, "Cause more flip cup is always neneees." Yes. I believe the translation is, "Cause more flip cup is always needed." What a gem, love and miss you so, Natrasha!!
That's all for now children :)
