This isn't the exact post I was planning on for today but the stars didnt quite align so it will have to wait for a photographer to be in comission! Today marks exactly one year to the day of my Grad. I wanted to do a post with me in my dress yadda yadda but oh well. It happen eventually! But for now some of my new favorite photos and my rambling will have to do.

Here's some photos anyways! (I'm a huge fan of this first one)

I've been listening to a lot of Air and Ratatat lately, and thanks to a certain someone I found the new Ratatat album, LP4 and cannot stop listening! That mixed in with some French genius of Air (Cherry Blossom Girl, Sexy Boy, and the entire Virgin Suicides soundtrack that they did) has gotten me in a tizzy. Now I really want to watch the Virgin Suicides or any other Sophia Copolla movie will do... that may be in order for this snowy(?!) May evening.

you've got the magic eye

Well, here we are again. Terribly sorry that it's been so late this time. It always seems that by the time I get around to posting or feel like I should post something it's around the time when I start getting messages from some people (cough Jeremy, Natasha, Liz cough) to post again :) So here it is. The inspiration finally came to me I guess you could say, and I think this is how we're going to go. Alright so originally, Liz had an epiphany and said I needed to do a post about the amazing 90s 3D craze, magic eye. I could never really do magic eyes before but after much intensive coaching from Lizzay and staring cross eyed 1cm away from her computer screen for a solid 10 minutes I finally got it!! So to go along with some of these marvelous little optical illusions I though I would put it with some beauty shots from shows that have turned into some of my favorites that I think are pretty... magical... tehe, so cheesy but so perfect. Oh and I got my hair cut today so for all you people that I unfortunately can no longer walk next door and show, and instead can skype, I posted a few pics for you!

This is the very first magic eye I ever accomplished. Yay.
So fresh. Stella McCartney Spring/Summer 2010
I love gold. Karl knows how to do it so well. Chanel Fall/Winter 2008

I'm usually one more for the natural but this is just kind of brilliant. I believe it's from a Christian Lacroix show. I saved this picture because I love the use of colour, the pale, pale pink on the cheeks and that metallic aqua on the eyes. That takes some skill.

Karlie Kloss. So gorg. This is from the Alexander Wang Spring Summer 2009 show. So fresh and natural with the wild eye brows and big braided hair. One of my faves. All the girls looked great.

And who doesn't love smarties??!?!

And... duh duh duhhh.. the hair cut. It's short! Back to the Alexa Chung locks again. It's about the same length as it was back in October. It was at a really awkward length a matter of hours ago so I was very happy to cut it again. I almost feel like I didnt get it cut though, like this is the length it should be, feels almost more normal this way now.

So there you have it. Sorry about the delay on this one, folks. Another one should be soon though, less than a week I'm hoping if all works out! Hope you enjoyed it!

something good can work

Well hello there again. I am back after a bit of a hiatus. Back in Calgary too. After 3 days of snow I finally saw blue sky today. Shocking, I know, considering I have been hearing nothing but tales of summer fun from friends who are now all over the country. Sad but true. After many a tearful goodbye, it was time to come back home. It was an amazing 8 months that pretty much lived up to every cliche about the first year of university and what it would be like. The people, the memories, the relationships... oh yeah and classes too. It really sucks being away from everyone right now, so thank God for skype, mixed tapes, facebook chat, like today with the lovely Ms. Lizzay Ellan, and text messaging and all that fun stuff that keeps us all 'connected' (thanks Alf!).

So yeah. The day that I left UBC and said my final goodbyes I went shopping with my mom, pops and sis. I guess completing my first year of university and not having seen my family in 4 months worked in my favor because mother dearest got me a pair of shorts and a new dress!! Thanks Mama :)

Here are some pics taken by my lovely and talented sister, Miss Jillian. Mad props. I rarely ever think that I'm photogenic so it was really nice to have some legit shots taken.

First we have some jean shorts. They're called the 'boyfriend' short. I don't know if my boyfriend would really wear these, a little short but you know, always nice to show some leg now and then ;)

I was kind of channeling a bit of Alexa Chung with this look, she did a really similar one on her show last summer that is one of my favorites so with my new denim I couldn't resist.

this one feels a bit reminiscent of something... ;)

Here's the little floral dress.

When I first bought these boots, I had a vision. Of a slightly over sized, swingy, floral, summer dress to pair them with. I am pretty pleased that this Raven Simone - esque vision has now come to life. Cannot wait to wear this for reals once all the snow is melted and temperatures climb a bit more over 10, a little colour on the legs might be nice too. For now I am embracing the pale as always.

Always a big fan of an exposed zipper too.

Once again, all the photos get credit to Jillill and her mad photog skills! Impressed to say the very least. I hope you enjoyed it. I had a lot of fun taking the pics, dancing around in my backyard to some Two Door Cinema Club with my sis.
But before I go, I must incorporate something that I promised my dear friend Natasha I would... a drunk text. This one is from tonight, "Cause more flip cup is always neneees." Yes. I believe the translation is, "Cause more flip cup is always needed." What a gem, love and miss you so, Natrasha!!

That's all for now children :)
