So, as mentioned, in my first post I believe, I said that I was an avid reader of a few blogs. They have become such an important fixture in the world of fashion and their influence is undeniable with bloggers being looked at first for the latest trends (ughh I hate that word) and bloggers even becoming employed by other fashion media outlets such as major magazines and websites for their take on fashion at the moment. Here are a few of my favorites and with some other random things that I am just a bit obsessed with at the moment...
1. Tavi Gevinson
Tavi is a 13 year old fashion blogger who has gotten crazy recognition lately. This is due to the
fact that she is wise beyond her years when it comes to fashion, hilarious, witty, quirky, has an incredible sense of style and is already a muse for designers... and she's 13! Kind of makes me feel like I'm doing nothing substantial with my life when I read her blog and she talks about going to all the latest shows (she was recently just at Couture week in Paris!) and all the amazing
things she's doing.

My friends and I have pretty much incorporated her into our everyday lives, talking about her latest post, and how amazing/crazy she is or coining an outfit, piece, or anything "so Tavi." One of the pictures of her from her blog is my profile picture on facebook. Needless to say I'm obsessed and I think she's awesome and look forward to every new post she puts up!

2. Jak and Jil Blog
Jak and Jil is a blog that I love looking to for amazing pictures and overall inspiring things. It's done by Tommy Ton, an amazing photographer that also works with Vogue and style.com. I love the way he shoots people and things to make them look so effortless and cool.

3. Garance Dore
Oh Garance. How I love her so. An amazing woman with impeccable taste. I really love her blog because she posts things that she finds inspiring on all her worldly travels and within the fashion industry. She is also an incredible fashion illustrator and posts those as well which is
makes her site pretty unique. My friend Lauren and I kind of got a bunch of our friends hooked on her blog as well.

4. Scott Schuman aka The Sartorialist
This is one of the first fashion blogs that I got into, ohh about 3 or 4 years ago. His blog is great in the sense that he started off just taking photos of people on the street that he thought were dressed very well, and that he really thought embodied style. His blog was also named by Time Magazine as one of the top 100 design influencers. He has now put out a book with his pictures and collaborates with style.com and designers for their ad campaigns which really goes to show the impact of blogging today. He is also dating Garance (see above) which is pretty much the ultimate fashion couple and adorable.

5. Alexa Chung
Alexa, Alexa, Alexa. So last summer after school was finished I decided that I wanted to chop all of my hair off (for a fresh start, change and all that good stuff). When I went looking for a style that I liked, I immediately remembered this cool looking girl that I saw on this British television show named Alexa Chung. After googling and googling I fell in love with her as she is the epitome of British cool and can not get enough of her or anything about her. I also may or may not have an entire album of pictures of her on my computer... may or may not! It's a little excessive.
So I cut about 7 inches of hair off. Here is the picture that inspired it all.

Now whenever my friends see anything about her they know to let me know because I will probably freak out a bit and they know I will appreciate it. My friend Lauren who is also a devotee to fashion blogs made me these amazing posters that are now hanging on my wall with pictures from her favorite blogs and also a fair few Alexa photos.
I must say I was quite upset when I learned that her MTV show, It's On With Alexa Chung, was cancelled in the states. When the show was on, MTV would blog about what she was wearing which I very stalker-esque-ly followed.

Well I hope you enjoyed this little rant that I had about some of the things I'm into. I will leave you with this video of Tavi dancing to ABBA. AMAZING. Enjoy! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ugI34M12Fdg&feature=related
Thanks for posting links to those blogs! I had a great time looking through them! :)
